How to Check History on WiFi Router

Checking your Wi-Fi router history varies with different router models. However, they are usually similar and easy to navigate. Simply follow the instructions listed below:

Open your web browser to connect to the network of your router and input your router’s web address.

Type in your default IP address. The IP address is an 8-digit number with the format “000.000.0.0”.

You can get the 8-digit number in your router’s manual or via the CMD (command prompt) on a Windows PC. For the latter, type CMD in the search bar to reveal a CMD window and type in ipconfig/all followed by the enter key.

Log in with your router’s username and password. Mostly, a new router comes with a default login username and password, which you can find in the manual that comes with your router or even online. If you have changed your default username and password at a time and you can’t remember, you can get back access to your account using the password recovery feature.

After logging into your router, head to the settings and look for the Logs option (or something similar). In the logs section, you will find the log of all the IP addresses of the websites visited on your network

Select the IP address of particular users. You will find this on a page showing the IP address of all the users on your network. Select the user whose browsing history you want to probe.

Back in the logs, check through all the websites that users have visited on your network and trace the IP address of the particular user you want to investigate.

How to Check WiFi History on the Phone

You cannot check your Wi-Fi history on Android. However, you can check the record of the amount of data used by different applications via wireless connection under your device settings.

You can also check your wireless connection history on Android for the details of the wireless connections that your device has connected to in the past. Please note that you can only get the saved Wi-Fi name and password via this channel.

Similarly, there is also no way to check Wi-Fi history on iPhone because iPhone does not even save Wi-Fi history. You only have access to a history of a list of wireless networks that you have successfully connected to in recent times.

The WireShark app is easy to navigate but the search result can be a little complex to interpret, especially for non-tech savvy persons.

How To Delete Wifi History

First, get the IP address of your router handy. Then, enter your router’s username & password and open the settings option on your router.

If a user on your network uses a VPN service, you won’t be able to check to browse history on a Wi-Fi router. This is because VPNs encrypt their browsing data, which prevents you from accessing the sites they have visited.
